About the Program

The Leadership Program of the Allen Chamber of Commerce offers an exceptional opportunity to refine your leadership skills, explore the history and governance of Allen and Collin County, and discover ways to become more engaged in your community. During the program, you will gain knowledge about local concerns and resources, expand your professional network, and acquire valuable project and team leadership experience through an introduction to the various aspects of developing and maintaining a vibrant community, as well as establishing dialogue with a diverse range of community leaders.
The nine-month program is designed to identify, motivate, and develop business and community leaders who can contribute more effectively to the companies they work for and to instill a sense of community and the importance of volunteerism.

What Makes Leadership Allen Different

Monthly Program Sessions

Each month, participants are introduced to a different aspect of the community and Collin County:

City Government & Services

Go beyond networking events to gain meaningful access to the people shaping Allen’s future. Understand how local government actually works—from city council chambers to planning departments.

Education

Explore the connection between quality education and economic development. Meet with school district leaders and understand how education shapes workforce development.

Health & Human Services

Discover the Vital Role Health and Human Services Organizations Play in Community Wellbeing and Quality of Life.

Economic Development

Learn what drives Allen’s growth, what challenges we face, and how business leaders can contribute to continued prosperity.

Justice & Law Enforcement

Gain insights into public safety, the justice system, and how these services contribute to community stability and growth.

Leadership Skills Development

In addition to monthly community sessions, participants develop their leadership skills through targeted leadership development programming each month, as well as two full days of leadership training and team-building activities.

Who Should Apply

The Leadership Allen program is designed for individuals who have demonstrated leadership and a history of community involvement. We look for individuals with a commitment to ongoing personal development and a strong desire to continue their service.

Program Details:

Schedule: The Leadership class meets one day per month, from October through May, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants also attend a day-and-a-half orientation program.

Time Commitment: Just one day each month, plus orientation and your class project work

Program Cost: Total cost for the 9-month program is $1,150 for Chamber members / $1,400 for non-members

Tuition includes:

Costs associated with the program are kept to a minimum thanks to the support of the Allen Chamber of Commerce and company sponsorships from alumni

Applications will open May 2026, for 2026-2027 Class

The Allen Chamber’s Leadership program is open to all Allen residents and members of the Allen Chamber of Commerce. The makeup of each Leadership class is carefully considered to ensure that it is diverse, representing a broad range of professional, economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds.

Important Note

Due to limited class size, many highly qualified applicants may not be placed the first year they apply. However, the program coordinators will do their best to accommodate all applicants whenever possible.
